Outdoor First Aid
Who is this for?
This qualification is designed to enable learners to undertake the role of the first aider when in rural and more remote regions of the UK.
It is suitable for self-reliant outdoor activity instructors, teachers or leaders operating in situations where a number of hazards may be present or help may be up to a few hours away, for example an outdoor education tutor, mountain or canoe expedition leader, Duke of Edinburgh assessor or forest school leader.

- Choking
- Assessment of the situation
- Control of bleeding
- Prioritising treatment
- Head injuries
- Environmental factors
- Eye injuries
- Dealing with an unresponsive casualty
- Poisoning
- Bandaging
- Chest injuries
- Moving a casualty
- Abdominal injuries
- Shock (including Anaphylaxis)
- Sprains and strains
- Fractures and spinal injuries
- Burns and scalds
- Heart attacks
- Asthma
- Diabetes
- Epilepsy
- Hypothermia
- Frostbite
- Heat exhaustion
- Bites and stings
- Minor injuries
How will Inspire First Training deliver the course?
We can provide your facilitated session on-site at your premises, provided suitable outdoor facilities are available, or alteratively at our preferred venue.
This course is typically delivered over 16 hours (2 days).
